Yet these same characteristics make composite materials among the most difficult industrial materials to recycle.
Every year, increasing volumes of carbon fibre, glass fibre, thermoset composites, and advanced engineering materials reach the end of their useful life. Much of this valuable material is still disposed of through landfill or energy recovery.
Recovering these materials represents one of the aerospace industry's greatest sustainability opportunities.
